All along, I assumed Oblivion would take advantage of a multicore processor ...
After all, it is designed for the XBox 360 as well.
So, I was on the Bethesda Forum and looking for something confirming Dual Core Support!
I found this thread:
http://www.bethsoft....amp;hl=optimise
That pointed me to this link:
http://www.tweakguid...Oblivion_9.html
It appears that Oblivion is written to take advantage of multicore processors ...
But the feature is not enabled by default on the PC versions.
The second link is all about optimizing your system, and includes the how to enable multicore utilization.
What the He....ck?
Why wouldn't it default install to take advantage of dual core???????

Probably so if it has problems they don't have to support it! It is probably just for the devs to play with it inorder to further support it in the next game.

I was let down when I found their statement ... not supporting Vista as Oblivion is not a "Games for Windows"
I'm assuming that's a M$ rating sort of thing tied to the Vista Rating?
But still, ?

Why does everyone have to be hatin' on Vista?
I can't agree, as I do have a game profile with all the eyecandy shut off and it performs very well.
It's not like we didn't all hear the XP x64 nay nay
Yet now it's mostly functional
.... now that 64 bit is actually released ... as opposed to when it was just sort of XP 64 'the bastterd child'.
