Splog?

This is the new word being used to describe the thousands of fake blogs being created by spammers which are entered for listing on blog search engines and the like.

The word actually comes from New Zealand and refers to footwear that is a cross between a clog and a sheepskin slipper.

Google has reported that its Blogger hosting service was recently hit with 13,000 splogs.

If i had half a chance i would banish all Spammers to hell.

Also coming soon...Internet experts predict the following!

Phlog: a blog that pretends to be about online banking but then steals your data
Vlog: a blog that pretends to offer virus alerts but attacks readers who click on links
Zlog: a blog that reduces your awareness of an attack by sending you to sleep

Actually the Zlog is made up :)

heh unfortunately no matter what you do, there's ALWAYS going to be a way to spam it, there's ALWAYS going to be Identity theft, and there's always going to be virus attacks... I am actually surprised there isn't a virus form out YET. Zlog... sure, slows your computer down, you get bored and fall right asleep :)

My site was almost bandwidth limit exceeded by a few spam servers constantly trying to break through my anti spam scripts and keyword banning, anyways i contacted my hosting dude and he added 4 ip addresses to his global server firewall.

I hate spammers or people who just want to cause trouble for us folks with a PC and a bit of time spare to just get some fun in a tight schedule.
