This was on the portal recently, thanks Newsposters :)

Microsoft have broadened their horizons a GREAT DEAL, and they have realized that File-sharing is the in thing, certainly for the younger generation and also for some of the older generation.

As part of their strategy change for selling online, Microsoft believe online advertising and also sharing software Live this way will really boost sales!

Microsoft supporting file sharing, I guess I would never have believed it. Now I want to know what would Microsoft do if they caught someone sharing something that was iligel?

I think it´s a first step legalizing filesharing..........but what will be the price of it?
Let´s just hope Microsoft won´t get the idea to **sale** updates........

Well its not easy to toll charge on a File-sharing network and MS will know that, and i really believe MS will start some open source projects, and use this system to share, they can see a hole in their bucket and they don't want to mask the hole, they want a new bucket.

(illustration i used kindly borrowed from JesusII AKA Nvyseal, look out for the film!)

Microsoft announced a committment to open source projects earlier this year, so it's not a stretch to think that this P2P acquisition could serve as their distribution network. The question is what will they bundle into this setup?
