images/news/windows7.jpgMicrosoft plans to announce on February 9 that Service Pack (SP) 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 has finally crossed the finish line.

(There have been a few earlier reports that SP1 was done and out, but today marks the official RTM announcement, my sources say. Iíve asked Microsoft officials for comment, but no word back so far.)

Word is that the bits will go to OEMs and Technology Adoption Program (TAP) partners today, MSDN/Technet later this month (WinRumors is hearing February 16, I see), and the rest of the Web on February 22.
