If you are beta testing Vista 5231 and have a Creative Labs Audgigy 2/Zs or Audigy 4 card, you are most likely having problems geting it to work as I did, I have the fix for you.

* Download the attached file
* Unpack using winrar
* Navagate to the folder "DRIVERS"
* Run the "SETUP" for the "Creative Device Driver Setup Program"
* You will see new hardware found notices.
* BE PATIENT you will be prompted to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect
* Reboot and install will complete
* Reboot again

Please note, their are still problems, but at least we have sound.

I also will be testing the 64bit drivers, keep your fingers crossed! ;)

I have the Audigy 2ZS Notebook and when I tried to use it on my notebook running XP x64, there was a problem with excessive static and crackling noises coming from the card. The best solution was to manually edit the driver code to bump the PCI latency up a notch. However, Creative has basically done nothing to address this issue, even though there were numerous posts on their forums regarding this issue.

still trying to find it... I apologize for the delay...

Here's an automated patch - one is for VIA chipsets only, the other is for non-VIA motherboards:

Here are two tools to use as well:

PCI Latency Tool 2.7

WPCREDIT

Description of the fix (states it was for an eMAchines M6811, but it will work for the majority of notebooks with the static issue):
