images/news/office.jpgMicrosoft has released the final build (4763.1000) of Office 2010 to MSDN and TechNet subscribers today.

Microsoft said on Friday that its new Office suite, due in May for businesses and June for consumers, had reached the released to manufacturing (RTM) milestone. The build leaked shortly after the official RTM announcement last Friday. Volume License customers with Software Assurance will be able to download the RTM bits on April 27.

Go get :giggle:

HERE is some info on what is different between 32 and 64bit

Normally, subscribers get 10 product keys for this retail SKU, plus an additional key for use on Volume Licensing copies. A notice at both MSDN and TechNet Microsoft says additional product keys for subscribers will be available on April 30.

Anyone considering an Office 2010 deployment should be testing both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. But if you’re planning to use the software in production environments for normal business use, I strongly recommend installing the 32-bit version, even on 64-bit Windows installations? There’s no real advantage to using 64-bit code unless you expect to work with very large Excel files, and there are potentially substantial compatibility headaches caused by add-ins that aren’t 64-bit aware.
