Is Windows 7 finished? Apparently not

images/news/windows7.jpgA Microsoft spokesman told me this afternoon that no, a final build has not been declared for Windows 7, and it has not been released to manufacturing.

Formally, all Microsoft is saying is that Windows 7 will RTM sometime this month.

There is, however, a build with this number on it making its way through the torrents.

Update 7.13.2009: Ed Bott explains how Microsoft arrives at its build numbers, and why a leap to 7600 doesn't mean that particular build is the RTM.

oh sorry guys , wonder is they also removed watermark from 7600
i think 7777 will be the RTM build
