as a youth (first gen american), my newly transplanted irish father turned me on to the best british (actually best of any) detective shows available at that time in the states. first there was "secrete agent man", "the saint", and then the ultimate trip out one, "the prisoner". in the prisoner, the protagonist drove what looked like the most free and marvelously open vehicle, the lotus 7:

years later i purchased a convertible tr7, which i fondly referred to as my "barbie" car. just total joy/somewhat misery (lucas electrics...lol), but the open cars just got to me. i really am jealous of james and his miata atm. anyone else captivated by small, roarty sounding brit/import convertibles? i mean really, drain plugs in the floorboards...got to love that...

Wish I could trade for a Shelby! Less the electronics issues I bet that was such a blast to drive Mike mainly due to the power they offer in such a small package, converting mine to a Monster Miata would be the best of all worlds for me, sadly it won't happen for mine.
