images/news/microsoft.jpgCommon Windows problems could soon be solved by clicking a "Fix It" button.

Microsoft has started putting the button on its web-based support pages that detail the most common problems hitting PC and Windows users.

Clicking the button kicks off a download that, once run, carries out the series of steps needed to fix a specific problem or remove a bug.

Microsoft also has plans to extend the click-to-fix system to help users recover from a crash.

Microsoft is also planning to extend the quick fix system to its bug reporting system, so it comes to life after a crash or other software problem. In the future, rather than simply report a problem, Windows users will get the chance to fix it.

If it actualy works....then I'm all for it! It makes the tech a bit redundant around town, but then they're redundant anyway.

I like the idea, but I'm not seeing any real implementation in the future. I'm guessing it'll be a weekly-update-release

otherwise, any random server (even google or MS) would be so much strained.
I see it as a "feedback-button" which will take it's time to fix, unless fix is already available

One click fix-alls have always given me the shivers. There are too many problems that have the same or similar symptoms but that is as far as the similarity goes. I see the possilbity of one-fixing something that wasn't "broken" and in turn breaking something that's not even related. Though is sounds interesting, I am not sure that I would give that much credit to Redmond for fixing something based upon basically symptoms and little else. But then again, I have always been the eternal skeptic...Bill. :withstupid:
