images/news/hardware.jpgWell we all know that SSD drives are durable, but just how durable are they? That is a question Samsung wanted to answer, so they dropped one from the roof of their building in San Jose California. Check out the video below to see what happens.

Hmmm..............................

First: There is no way to know that that is the only hard drive on the system.
Second: The system appeared to be on standby.... So even if it was the only drive, I would assume that the whole drive would not become faulty
Third: why the: Don't try this at home? If you are so confident! Hey.. why not, it still has warranty
Fourth: I want prices to drop as fast as that one did and hit the ground like that.

I have a sandisk on my car keys and they are durable.. No doubt. I have submerged them in oatmeal (accident) then water to clean it up and worked FLAWLESSLY.

We'll see.

No surprise there really as there is not much to damage? No moving parts, so I guess it just depends on how well the outer shell casing is manufactured, thickness/strength etc.

A decent casing fitted, and you could probably drop it off the Empire State Building and get the same results :graduated:
