they would need more shielding though, like conventional power cables.

It wont happen.
everyone will stick with RJ-45 instead of moving to a new plug so that ultra high voltages can be used to carry high power loads.

I think it will take a while for it to become mainstream...just look at how many people are still using phone modedms, one of which is me. They came out in like the 90s and are still widely used.

like 20 more years before broadband is the main source and modems are no longer used... modems are already obsolete :lol:

Actually, you'd be suprised with how many PC's come with a 56k telephony/fax modem. I haven't seen one yet that doesn't come with one.

Mine still has the modem in it, I just don't use it.

i have a modem in my laptop and server, they never get used though...
