This is always a special day and not because I am Irish (I'm really Native American and English). This is my Father's Birthday. Clifton Patrick Bomar Sr. was born March 17, 1917. He has been gone for 18 years now but his memoryand respect live on. He was a member of Tom Brokaw's "The Greatest Generation". He fought in WW II in Italy, Belgium, France, and Germany. There are times that I wish I could call and ask for some guidance but all I have to do is sit and think of the things that he taught me (and many at the time I didn't understand) and I will usually remember what he probably would have said. But one lesson that he (and my Mother) taught me...I am on my own. If I make it to the mountain top of fame and success, it is not to their credit that I got there. If I make it to the deepest valley of hell and shame, it is not to their blame that I am there. All my choices are mine as are the rewards or consequences. This perhaps is the greatest thing that he and my Mother taught me.

Forgive me for taking this time and space but my Father was a man worth remembering. I wish all of you could have known him. And perhaps through these words, you have met a portion of the man that he was. Thanks for the time and space that I used here...talker. :graduated:
