I thought McCain came across very honest in detailing his platform. He outlined, very specifically, his policies and what he will and what he will not change in his administration. It was a sharp contrast to Obama's "big tent" approach. To the issues voter, McCain, at least, put a fine point on 'em.
Palin rivaled Obama in the "Superstar" politician speech. I'd bet independent voters were much more impressed with her than Barack for a couple reasons----most important among those is that she weathered the storm of controversy and still kicked ass. People on the fence will always side with someone that faced a wall of water and stayed dry. I think she owned Obama in that department. Granted, Obama had to deal with a lot of crap too but his supporters that went crazy against Palin's kid for being pregnant are despicable and they came off that way. Her daughter is NOT running for office. Obama's approach to fighting that stuff seems timid by comparison in the sense that he hasn't told his critics to f off in the same way that Sarah Palin did last night.
McCain, Obama, Biden, Palin-----all four can, and should be, be put to the ultimate scrutiny. But not their kids.
I'm very much an avowed supporter of Obama but the truth is that Ms. Palin just made this race much, much closer. I disagree with her on almost every issue but she just turned the tables on Barack because she doesn't speak in platitudes and, for that, she deserves a whole lot of respect. IMHO, McCain has Obama in check. Not mate, yet, but he still has position.
This, imho, was the speech of the year for the McCain supporters. Obama just got owned.

I thought McCain came blah blah blah blah
Obama got ownd.
Ummm, nevermind. Joe Biden just erased my entire post last night in which I tried to give the RNC some credit. I'll try not to do that again---this guy kinda scares me and I'm not even running for anything. Palin is in for it at the debate.
