images/news/vista.jpgIn what may be an unprecedented decision, Microsoft said Thursday that it plans to lower the retail prices for several flavors of Windows Vista.

Ultimate full looks to be officially headed down to $320 from $400, and the upgrade is down to $220 from $260; Home Premium is now at $130 from $160. Will the dip be enough to entice plenty of new OS upgraders?

Other developed markets will also see price cuts, while in emerging markets, Microsoft is eliminating the distinction between full and upgrade versions of Home Basic and Home Premium as it attempts to convince more users there to use genuine software.

Will the dip be enough to entice plenty of new OS upgraders?

You could sell it for $5 a copy Steve, but thats still too expensive, as I can buy a 'blank' DVD case for less than a dollar.

Vista, oh woulda, coulda, shoulda. A pitty really. So much hype, so much hope, so much bull. :rofl_mini: Honestly if you have it, deep down you know you were tricked into buying it. There is nothing left to do, but make yourself feel good about it by over appreciating the fluff. Denial. A tough pill to swallow. :friends:
