Yep, Windows Defender is not bad at all, frequent Updates, quite powerful..
Maybe you Remember Antispyware utility such as GIANT AS ? well.. if you do, you probably also remember that this AntiSpyware was not so bad at all...
Not so long ago Microsoft bought it, Renamed it To Windows Defender, and gave it as A Freeware for all of the Windows Users...
Soo why should you pay something for someone, for what you already paid to Microsoft.. (Believe Me, you did.. He he )
And Yes.. WELCOME TO THE X64BIT.net Website, where you feel like at "home". IMHO !

Another app that you may find you like is WinPatrol Plus...or StartupMonitor which comes in 32 and 64 capable packages.

Only gripe about WinPatrol I have is you can buy Plus if you like and not have 100% free software, the other issue is that it doesn't always register a change immediately, but then with StartupMonitor (both x86 & x64) is totally free and picks up a change instantly, so if anything inserts itself into startup you know instantly, with WinPatrol I have seen it take several minutes to register any change...so it has some room for improvement even though it is a nice app.
Also take note StartupMonitor does ONLY that, once loaded you only know it is there when it alerts you, WinPatrol you will notice more and it has many other options/features...just thought that was an important thing to know of the apps.
