SOFTWARE Giant Microsoft is keeping very quiet about why it fired its chief information officer.
Stuart Scott was ordered to clean out his desk and handed his P45.
A Volish spinner said it was following an investigation and was for " violation of company policies".
SpokesVole Lou Gellos read the carefully worded statement to AP saying that Scott was ordered out of Redmond on Friday. He would not be drawn on the matter further.
Scott has had a home in the Volehill since 2005 and was responsible for the information technology infrastructure. He was quite close to the top as he reported to Kevin Turner, Microsoft's chief operating officer, who listens to the shy and retiring, softly spoken Steve Ballmer quite often.
Alain Crozier, a corporate vice president who also reports to Turner, and Shahla Aly, a general manager in the services group, will take over his duties until a replacement is found. µ
