Microsoft Updates Popfly

Microsoft has announced an update to its Popfly Explorer hosted development environment. The new release of Popfly Explorer will add new Web tools that provide Web developers and Popfly users an easy way to add Silverlight gadgets built in Popfly to their Web pages, as well as publish HTML Web pages directly to Popfly.

More specifically, Popfly Explorer is an add-on component for Visual Studio 2005 that lets you create and share Visual Studio projects on the Popfly Space network. To use Popfly Explorer you must have a Popfly account.

Popfly is available as an open beta consisting of PopFly Creator, a set of online, code-free tools for building web mashups using "blocks," and Popfly Space, a community site for sharing mashups. Microsoft also provides a Visual Studio Express add-in for Popfly, which lets users distribute VSExpress-built web apps on Popfly Space. The Popfly team has posted a list of the enhancements in the new beta , which include the ability to generate gadgets for the Windows Vista Sidebar as well as Windows Live.
