images/news/amd.jpgAMD today launched its newest versions of its workstation graphics accelerator, the ATI FireGL card.

Specifically created for workstation programs such as CAD software and DCC applications, the FireGL graphics cards compete with the Nvidia Quadro Series cards. AMD says the FireGL series has the full range of capability based on the requirements of the end-user.

The FireGL V3600 starts the 2007 series with the industry’s first dual-link DVI outputs at the entry level. Designed for simple CAD and DCC datasets and models, the card comes with 256MB of internal memory with 128-bit Ring-bus Memory Architecture. The card includes 120 unified shader processing units and will debut at around $300.
