i know about overclocking a bit, and I understand how it works and all, but i'm just wondering, if i were to get say an opteron that ran at 1.8 ghz, OC'd it up to like 2.5 or so, would it be safe (if it was at a reasonable tempurature, and passed long amounts of prime95 stress) to just leave it like that, and not touch it? just act as if it were bought that way?

Personally I dont OC moose (my mobo bytes), but I have seen Opty 165's (1.8GHz) OC'd @ 2.6GHz and very stable. From everything I have read the Opty will out OC most AMD chips. Most people leave them there and dont look back, thats why they buy them. :sphere:
