Granted, I'm a noob.
A semi knowlegeable noob.
But a noob none the less.

SO, after checking Viper's "new processor Rules on Bionic thread", I was wondering.
The Intel chips generally have a lower multi than AMD / but a higher bus.
~ AMD uses a 15 multi @ 200 to hit 3 G's.
~ Intel uses a 12 multi @ 250 to hit 3 G's ------- (I'm guestimating Intel's #'s / but isn't it sort of like that?)

Anyway, the ponderance is this:
Which is more important?
Higher Multi?
Higher Bus?

** I'm assuming bus.

For clarification, I'm talking in a 'all other things being equal' sort of way.
Assuming that the mobo and RAM were constant in either scenario ...

good question, to be honest on most of the older intels they had a higher multi, much higher in some cases, 20x an more.
the new ones are running on faster ram an faster bus's, I dont know what the am2's are doing seems to me they would be similer.

From what I've seen, AM2 is still tied to the 200 MHz bus due to the incorporated mem controller.
The board that I have gives me the ability to crank it up to 500 :bluerip:
Though I've only crossed a few threads that pushed it past 320.

I'm hoping with my RAM and this board, I'll be able to push 280 ...
and a multi of 12.5 :boom:

The original thought was more along the lines of if it would be faster to run the board at 320, use a divider to get the RAM as high as I can (or 1:1 :storm: ) and then use the multi to get the CPU as high as she'll go without adding too much heat.
