well, i went ahead and installed it...and still no audio love. i attempted to install the oss audio w/ support for the 8788 chip, but ubuntu said i wasn't authorized, even in root, to install it. i have now heard that fedora will support my audio card using the oss download, so i am downloading it atm...and alinux.

:offtopic: Dang! Can't we get a smiley face for an off topic post? :) Is it just me or are more people experimenting with Linux since the release of Vista? I'm sure the points to F@H members for Linux SMP has something to do with it but even non folders are playing with it. ;)

Now that i already have Ubuntu 7.04 x64 running in my main rig, i am seriously thinking of having it dual booting with XP32 on my AthlonXP.

1st rig now:
Windows Srv2k3 R2 x64
Ubuntu 7.04 x64
Windows Vista x64

3rd rig (AMD32) now:
Windows XP x86
Windows Vista x86

Thought for 3rd rig (AMD32):
Windows XP x86
Ubuntu 7.04 x86

...goodbye Vista x86 ...lol...

Right now I'm only running it through VMWare for folding, but I might try it on a triple-boot Vista/XP/Ubuntu soon enough. The only complaint I have is mouse is annoying...like...moving strange... But that might only be a result of it running in a virtual machine with only 512mb of allocated RAM, while folding.
