I saw this a few weeks ago. Personally, I think promoting the good qualities of Linux and Free Software is more beneficial than spreading FUD about Vista. Not to mention that they're just preaching to the choir...

:yahoo: Do you know how much money Microsoft makes by keeping DirectX proprietary and Windows-only? Me neither, but it's in the billions. The best you'll ever get is a DirectX clone like the ReactOS and Wine developers are working on, and it'll always be about 3 versions behind Microsoft's.

Well, if this is the official Vista bashing thread, Maximum PC has an article in this months issue: 10 reasons You Don't Need Vista Today."

1. Requires a fairly powerful machine
2. Application incompatibilities
3. Vista is crazy expensive
4. No hardware audio
5. Doesn't work with a lot of bleeding edge hardware
6. Doesn't work well with some games
7. Consumer unfriendly DRM (cough)
8. Poor driver support
9. Annoying (UAC)
10. You can wait unless you already own a direct X 10 video card

Needless to say they went into much more detail. :davex:

I'm also attaching an interesting Newegg survey.
