lol, I thought you'd be the first to get it. Maybe Storm or Enip. will figure it out. Regardless, I guess I was abstruse enough.

btw, where the hell is Brewin?!? Haven't heard from him in ages. Is he really Zach Grienke and has left X64bit to win some Cy Young's?

I'll help you out with my suspension story: link. Greatest bluesman of all time. The rest, well, it's Gens. chat. Can't be explained, rationalized, nor accepted. Has to be experienced.

Damn it Mr. Waters, while I know that you're attracted by the peeling away of feeling and the celebrity of the abused shell you must learn to try to sometimes perhaps maybe remember that discretion is the better part of Valium my good man.
And I've never read up on ol' Albert. I've always thought of Robert Johnson as the greatest bluesman of all time.

hey banj, thanks for the albert link. i loved albert's playing and songs. phil woods' drummer turned me on to him (at this time, he and robben ford were jam mates, and robben was already playing w/george harrison). wild times here in our little burg of ukiah ca. "crosscut saw" is a fav of mine, i can still remember the first time i heard it ('73)
edit; brent was soon to be phil's drummer. he was not at the time i met him (i had a high school flirt thing with his sister, so he would occasionally come by the bungalow).
you are correct banj, i should have noticed the date. time is rushing by so fast as i get older. i have met and played with wonderful people, in situations i look back on and feel i didn't deserve to be part of.

brent was dave's drummer when i met him. dave haskell was scary good; he and robben were mates, both very very talented guys. robben went to LA and all it brings, and dave went to SF and the jazz scene there. dave has gone on to be a jet pilot (his mom died not too long ago. we loved her...), and is still "a monster" player (he is indeed. he fits in w/Bill Frisell and John Scofield...pat martino? )

the first time i met dave, he and brent showed up at my place after a practice. i had just put the latest release from "return to forever" on the turntable (the first totally electric rtf album). dave picks up my old harmony acoustic and announces "ah, our competition!", and starts riffing out. i had never met a man as confident in his own abilities before or since...
