well heck...i've had it with platter storage: lost one of my eight in raid0 (yes, you can continue laughing....i did), and lost it all. i am now looking to replace all my storage w/solid state asap (meaning i haven't a dime, but at some point, i will triumph!)!!!

:graduated:

edit: yes, i am running vista x64 atm, and it is running super. a few more gigs of ram (on the way), and i may not go back to server...

I'm sorry, M.o. I would type something relevant, but I can't stop laughing.

But really, that sucks.

Due my extreme sorrow over your loss, it took me a moment to come up with something comforting and relevant but take this word of comfort...OOPS. :graduated:

Server '08 x64 is a great system but due to the Server aspect of the OS, it can be a challenge at times but it is such a pain to backup and reload everything I will stay with it...sigh.

Funny, I've never lost a drive on RAID 0, and I been running them since the day of dawn...lol, hardware must be sooo 'sensitive' these days or all that changing back and forward of OS's just leaves them moaning and groaning till one gives way?.....

Bit like a 'woman' really, 'grinds' on you after a short while, may the drive rest in peace MO :graduated:

lol

the drive checks out. up and running. lol. so now i tend to think (really, 8 drive raid0, one volume for everything...what was i thinking?) there might have been cache issues and the like going on, as my mobo would kick the volume until i did a cold boot, when this happened. wonder if the old pc p and c psu is having an issue or 2? anyway, i put the os on 4, and used the "failed' with another 3, so two raid0 volumes, and away it went. cant make the thing fail now...

Went to see a Buckethead show yesterday night in Burlington! A nice 2 hours trip, but it took 3 hours to go cause we got lost :graduated: That guy is amazing. For those who don't know him, here's one of many amazing songs. The first part of the show was That 1 Guy and his Magic Pipe, almost equally amazing. There were guest appearances of the Magic Saw and the Magic Boot too lol.

edit: oh and I'm working 1-9pm today too :S

Hell ya hog! That 1 Guy reminds me of NIN but more raw. Love it. Pure industrial (except for the drum). Now I am on a mission to find his music to download. I want to blast his music while driving.

Sorry for your loss, MO. I've been running RAID +0 w/2 500gb'ers for years now it seems. Never had an issue...

Anyhow, funny to hear articles stating that "64 bit is the future". Like talker basically said: Haven't we known this for years now? Isn't that how we all got together in the first place?

Bah, leave it to the public to drag their feet adopting 64 bit.

Anyhow, just munching on some fried shrimp and macaroni salad procrastinating on this presentation I have to put together on Marcuse's "One Dimensional Man". Good stuff.

So...what's up?
