Hmmm, a bit testy aren't we???? Find a dry towel and quit acting like a wet cat.
Life will get better, I promise.

i had to reformat this morning: i couldn't get thunderbird/outlook or firefox/ie7 to start. the only way to get out to teh interweb was through chrome...monkied around a bit with server, but because of all the default stuff running, i couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, so back to xp x64 for me
i figure i'm now using an OS for a workstastion, so the pretty effects will have to take a back seat (unless i discover i just can't stand xp), but it's nice having a handful of processes running, rather than 185 in server '08)...

The speed is overwhelming when you switch from pure bloat back to XP

i'll see how long i can stand xp this time. it's just that when there is an odd thing going on, it could be anything, really, in vista/server, though mostly server: i need to turn off most of the server security funtions to get some apps running. when i do, i lose my mail client off and on. then when i restart one, all the others have to be started too, like the friken firewall. bull, i say. i dont want anything in the way when i'm trying to do something, as i'm too old and ornery to be arsed with it

Late, but I'm here! Doing just fine, except I ate too much at the chinese buffet.
I met the GF's family (uncles, aunts and grandparents...) for the first time tonight... Not as worse as I would have thought.
Now it's hot and very humid here, not cool

neat. 'inlaws' are a breed apart, but looks like you came out unscathed

ok, i've just about had it w/xp...i get funny hesitations when copying links and the like. transfers are not that much better than server. faster boot, but heck, not as smooth for everything else. i hate hesitations, cant do them...
