I just read these two articles and am really seeing the crap that the PS3 is going to be. How stupid can Sony possibly be??

A JAPANESE tech site has pointed out that Sony might have a few problems in selling the concept behind its new PS3 controller.
According to Broadband Watch, Sony is expecting to get 30 hours of life from a single charge, but the battery cannot be replaced. This means that when the battery finally dies, or in the case of a Sony battery explodes, you will have to buy a new controller.

These are not that cheap and it seems strange that Sony have moved for a disposable tag on what is a key part of the console arrangement. Already the PS3 is being blasted for being far more expensive than its rivals.

This will come of some surprise to prospective PS3 owners considering that Sony have also announced that the console will not ship with a component cable, let alone any HDMI hook-up, meaning buyers wanting to view their PS3 in full-high-def glory must fork out even more cash for the privilege.

U.S. games will be released at previous-generation prices of $59.99 (expect that to translate to £49.99 in the UK, if Sony ever ships anything to Europe), but the bluetooth enabled controllers (with unremovable batteries) will sell for a sizeable $49.99, provoking more murmurs of discontent in the gaming community.

The PS3-branded HDMI cable will also retail at $49.99. Just for your information you can pick these up on ebay for less than 10 bucks.

At least you get a nice Blue-ray film bundled-in with your $599 PS3...which you can't actually watch at full resolution unless you spend more money on 'optional' accessories. Even Microsoft bothered to bundle a component output within the 360 premium pack. µ

I remember the PS2 being mad expensive, its the main reason I bought an X-Box (and oddly why I chose to fork out money for a Dreamcast)..

If you ask me, that's kinda sad that they would not send the cables w/ the console...and that they'd make you buy a new controler for a new batt. Kinda dissapointing.

thats disapointing? Im still not over the whole, "not including a game with a console" anymore. Unlike the NES days.
