Seen this plenty of times. Uninstall ALL your drivers then install this:
(ASSUMING YOU HAVE A Nforce 680i Intel 775 Motherboard [THE MOTHERBOARD TYPE IS NOT ON YOUR ORDER HERE]
http://www.nvidia.com/content/license/loca...nglish_whql.exe
-----RESTART MACHINE--------
Then Install This:
http://www.nvidia.com/content/license/loca...nxp_english.exe
That should clear things up.

I write back giving my Specs again...saying that this does not help one little bit........

Your issue maybe the fact that you are using XP64, and that drivers are not as developed as for the 32-bit edition.

Let's check the size of your power supply. The federal government mandates
that all manufacturers attach a sticker to the power supply with all pertinent
information needed. Sometimes it will be necessary to remove the power supply
from the case to see this label.
This label will contain two main features, the maximum wattage output and the
amount of amperage that can be supported by the +12 volt rail. Your power
supply may have two or even three +12V rails. In this case, you would add the
numbers together to find out the maximum amperage supported. Amperage will be
represented by the letter "A". We will need to know how many amps that the
power supply can handle on the +12V rail and how many rails your power supply has.
We will also need to observe what the voltages are running at in real time.
There are two ways to perform this. You could go into the BIOS of your
motherboard and under the advanced chipset tab, there may be an option for
voltage monitor. This will show you what the 1.5V, 3.3V, 5V, and the 12V rails
are operating at. We will need to know all four. If your motherboard does not
have this feature, you will need to download PC Wizard 2006 to tell what the
rails are at. This is a free download and a link to the webpage will be
provided at the end of this e-mail. This will provide the exact same
information that the motherboard will give. After installing the program,
click on the icon in the lower right hand corner and this will provide us with
what the rails are at. Again, we will need to know all four rail voltages.

Your PSU will need to have 20 amps on both 12v. 18 is not sufficient for this
card.
Thank you,

BFG Support
Now they know my PSU has 4 x 12v Rails at 18a EACH!! which equals 72a!!
They are talking about 2 x Rails @ 20a each....which equals 40a??
My PSU is also Nvidia SLI certified but I'm running nowhere near that power?......I have peeps over on XS Forums running 2 x 8800GTX's on this PSU without breaking sweat!
It's also one of their PSU recommendations for this setup.
Now WTF are BFG gibbering about??

OCZ is great! Unfortunately I had to RMA 2 different sets of RAM. No problems. The RMA sticks were pre-tested in their lab. Plus they upgraded the original purchase. They are only a 45 minute drive away.

1. The fans are spinning way too slow on this card and its causing many problems.
2. Some motherboards are not supplying enough juice to the card 100% of the time.
3. The drivers present are not working correctly and are resetting to defaults after a period of time.
Advice I have been given for my scenario which I will try tomorrow (not advice from so-called Tech Support I may add) but advice that's worked for others with same problem :
1. Installing nTune and forcing the fan to run at 100% is a temporary fix for number 1.
2. Setting PCI-e slot power to 'heaviest' in my BIOS should cure number 2.
3. Nothing can be done with number 3 till we have fixed drivers....but I am to uninstall/reinstall the 96.89's to coincide with previous fixes.
We shall see.

Just out of curiosity, have you PMed RJ about your problems? He's running a pair of 8800s powered by a 1 KW PC Power and Cooling PSU (for the cards alone. A second 1KW Psu powers the rig) He may have some first hand advice for you. Good luck and keep us posted. Have you started OCing yet?

Went out this morning to shops as usual and decided to take my iPod along the way.....2 minutes later 'BANG' the iPod freezes and is stuck on with no way of resetting or turning off....it don't play....it don't do nothing!!
Jesus! what next I thought!
Earlier.....just before I left to go out....I uninstalled the x64 Nvidia drivers and cleaned with Drivercleaner and turned off the PC with the intention of reinstalling when I got back.
Worried about my iPod...I wanted to get it plugged into PC ASAP to try and reset the device.....so on with the PC and hey presto! BSOD!!! saying "load needed DLL's for kernel"
Tried doing a Restore from the CD and hey presto! BSOD!!! saying "Bad Pool Caller"
System totally unusable no matter what I done.
Turns out the my RAID setup is corrupt also.....and have lost whatever stuff I had.
Trying to install XP32 now as a last resort LOL......lovely day....lovely week
I got my iPod reset on the other PC...but only after installing BloatTunes to fix it...so that's that PC needing another reinstall also.
