Shoved a couple of 40mm fans on both the South + North bridges and that has lowered system temp from 36 to 24 also.

How about some pix as to how those fans were mounted? ;) I ordered a Swiftech cooler for the NB on one rig. Sheesh! I have a floor fan with the side case off now as NB temps were reaching 61C with the side case on. :D

Am thinking of WCing the chipsets but another site says this restricts flow and is not a good thing.

It's your well detailed thread. Just thought you should keep us current. I've picked up a few good build tips already. ;)

 Just wanted to say thanks for giving us another look a Jessica every time you post! :)

Anywayz.......

The 'Dell' Widescreen monitor in place......

The completed unit (note the Vent coming in from back wall - Rad pulls cool air from here) :)

North & South with 40mm fitted fans (blue glow but pic don't show this)

Posted Image

Close up of fans..........they are very quiet Akasa type.......just screwed into heatsinks.

Posted Image

I have the fans connected to the front fan controller....but it's pointless as they are so quiet anyway.

Thanx for the pix! Dang bud, you are making me feel guilty about the wiring inside my cases. I'll have to spend some time cleaning them up.

When you say the fans are screwed into the heat sinks, were they designed for this or are the screws just wedged between the fins holding the fans in place? Yup!I'm a noob when it comes to building. Anything I can learn from those with more experience is soaked up like a sponge. :D

Look at any small heatsink with a fan.........they are screwed in to the fins.

No exception here buddy.........these fit just dandy and come with their own heatsinks........ I unscrewed the fans from them and tossed the El-Cheapo heatsinks..............lo and behold the fit was perfect!.........screws right into these babies on the board  :D (Warranty ruined again lol)
