One of our mods found this (link to our forum. Cheap way to get hits lol) at The Inquirer.net . What do you guys think?

Definitively i dont think they'll do that... not if they want people to buy Vista.

yes dave, shameless indeed
this was, and i repeat was, an "issue" with xp. til we found out that we could "phone home" ourselves, and request another activation number, if need be...

I have had to "phone home" several times to activate software. Both times the guy and the other end was a complete moron. I think I could of told him I stole the software and he still would of activated it, however I didn't. I mearly just reinstalled my machine and it would let me activate it. I wouldn't worry to much about vista.

The reason its of such concern, at least to me, I dont want to waste my time when I could have alot better things to do.

there wording is strange, you can reassign it to another device, that device becomes the licensed one? doesn't say you have to remove it from the first device, although I would bet that to be the case.
also of alot of concern, it will periodicly phone home to check validation. sounds like more spyware to me.
