Ok, I am trying to install Fedora Core 5 on my computer listed in my sig. The initial install runs fine and I checked the disc to make sure it was good. However, as soon as it starts to load the anaconda gui interface to continue my install the thing just freezes up. All I see is a blank screen with my mouse as a X that I can move around. I have tried forceing resolution on install and text install mode, and also doing a noprobe and manually installing stuff. All of these methods yeilded the same result.

Yeah, I was thinking that could be it. Right before it freezes it says it is loading the drivers and it says it doesn't know what kind of card it is. However, it does know that it is a Nvidia. Is there a way to load drivers for it, or am I just up a creek without a paddle on this one?

is ther a choice to load "legacy" drivers, or generic, before you complete install? i did that the first time i installed kubuntu, and i got your error. i reinstalled, and before it was finished, there was an option to load
generic drivers, and after choosing this, it installed without a hitch.
