A stingray sting that peiced Steve Irwin's heart, caused a puncture where he died soon after. He was filming a documentary on the coast of queensland when it occured in shallow water.

Though he sometimes was a bit unthoughtfull, he wasn't a bad person, and he had good docu's.

May he rest in peace

Yeah, I just read this on msnbc. He was doing a documentary called "Deadliest Ocean." It is sad to hear, however in sadly I knew it would get the best of him someday. You just can't come to the deadly edge of nature like that your entire life and expect to be ok. I am sure in his heart he knew that at some point in his life it would get the best of him. However, I am sure he was happy to die doing what he loved.

I was surprised a croc didn't get him. I lost all respect for him after I saw him bring his baby into the gator den. WTF was he thinking. A bit extreme for a bit of publicity

He had alot of people who enjoyed his work, and there are those who truly loved him.
Everyone makes bad choices once in a while , but this is certainly not the time to bring them up.

You will be missed, Steve Irwin.
Rest In Peace

Yup clarky, its odd how some of us meet our maker sometimes, John Denver, Country Boy a plane crash in the Pacific ocean, Sonny Bono, Mayor of a Desert City, Snow skiing, Christa McAuliffe, a school teacher, died in the Challenger Space shuttle. You never know when your number is up

I don't mean to sound like a w****r here but when I first saw him bring the baby into the den I though "What a bloody fool" and thought no more of it. But since my daughter was born almost six months ago my thoughts on what he did with his own child sickens me. Don't get me wrong here Roady, I watched his shows as much as the next guy (up until the time he did the above) and loved it. But still, to do that. Whrn MJ dangled his child off the balcony the world was like "Oh my God did you see what he did? The guys is nuts. He should never have kids bla bla bla" But when Irwin brought his child into the den everybody says "Well it's Steve Irwin. He knew what he was doing". If you look at his face when he did that you could see he was nowhere near in control.

End of rant. Thank you and goodnight.

It sucks that he died but at least he died doing what he loves. Even though it was a sting ray, he was out in the field doing his life passion. I would have been even more messed up if he fell down some stairs and broke his neck. R.I.P.

It's caught on tape I heard yesterday.

He got stung while swimming over the fish. He pulled out the tail, and died pretty much instantly after he removed it from his chest
