SHANGHAI, China--Advanced Micro Devices, the world's No. 2 maker of computer processors, hopes to have 40 percent of the global server market by unit shipments by 2009, a senior executive said on Tuesday.

Wow, that is a pretty big goal! I think they can do it if they put their mind to it. I mean that recently got IBM and Dell, both really big deals so they should get that!

I was thinking the same thing.
This should really boost these market penetration.
With the corperate world moving to AMD servers, this will make it easier for the corperate desktop/work station to be implimented with AMD.

whith intel gearing up and building new plants, i think this might be a hard target to reach we will see!
