Well, this has been a very poor couple of weeks for my stats. I lost about 5 WUs due to errors. Somehow the core got corrupted and ruined everything. I deleted the core and everything seems to be working now. Unfortunately, right as I finished a WU yesterday, the Stanford network went down. To top it off, my power is on and off because of a huge ice storm that's pretty much crippled the whole area. :cc_surrender:

Anyway, just thought I'd give a status report.

The error I was getting was "Couldn't write local files" and then when I would restart the client, the WU would be deleted. I really have no idea what the problem was.

It is an .exe. In Linux, file extensions don't really mean much but for some reason they decided to call it an .exe.

Ok. I tried several different things and everything I try I get the same message "got bad file info". I wouldnt think they have a bad file, so what am I doing wrong. I have the file on my desktop (FAH504-Linux.exe) so how do I get it to work. I tried reading some help sheets but I havent used linux in years and have become a slave to windows (which I am trying to break). I am pulling my hair out trying to get this to work and Im just at a loss. :RJsPC:

That 504 is an old version and has expired. you need the 6.0 version for linux. follow these directions

Not anymore. It just came back on. I could have used it all this week though. Six days without power. It was in the mid-40s in my house all week. We cooked hot dogs in the fireplace and slept under three blankets.

I'm back folding again though. Unfortunately, all of the WUs I was working on are several days past their deadlines now...
