Did they cut the points like they did for the Linux SMPs? All 2MB cache procs got whacke by 50%. :)
I guess I dont quite understand what you mean when you say got wacked by 50%. I've noticed that with the new WU"s but when I get one of the original 4 WU's I get the same performance I always did? Shed some light on this for me bro. And now chriso has me curious as to what has happened with the PS-3, and how they got screwed? :storm: Whats up with that chriso?

They didn't make any changes to the points, they just basically stopped handing out the WUs that the PS3 excels at (Amber). After Sony updated the client to 1.1, our average PPD on the PS3 jumped from 900 to over 1200. Now it's back down to 900. It might change again and the Pande Group might readjust the points, since they don't seem to make any sense right now.

BTW,

Also, we just completed our 2000th WU as a team. :storm:

Go Team!!!

Thanks for the PS3 article brewin. They did something very similiar with the Linux SMP client, but it is accross the board. The newer WU's are taking up to two times longer to complete.

And that's what I meant when I said the points got whacked. :storm: The 2608-09 WUs are taking double the time on Intel 2MB cache chips. The AMDs only slowed down 5-7 to about 30 minutes a frame but then they were taking 23 minutes a frame to start. Previously, the E-6300s were getting about 12.5 frame times.

I was also a little off by saying the original 4 WU's were giving the same performance as always. Im processing a 2605 right now and I notice a 4 min increase per frame. 20 mins to 24 mins! :storm: Dammit Jim!! :)

Damn, I'll never be able to reach you all up there, I've been having problems lately and I don't know why. Client reboots for no reason or isn't able to send back results even though I haven't changed anything. Hopefully that WU I'm doing right now will finish alright.
