I tried out linux a few times but I never stuck with it because of them problems. I am certainly glad they have come so far.
Ya know might be abit late now to ask, but when it asks for a user an team, do I need to create a user at the folding forum or something? an just putting 51370 in will work right?

That's a good question Cam. It might be worth going here...

http://fah-web.stanf...qtype=userstats

Type in the user name you picked to see if it comes up. I just picked my user name and went with it. Someone had used it like 6 years before but never generated any points. If someone is already using the name you picked, you will be folding for them. :bluerip: As long as the team # is correct the points will come here.

Edit: You can always reconfigure the client if someone has your username. Shut down the client first. Ctrl C other wise the reconfig won't take effect.

Vipe, I believe I had to compile something for the install of VMware tools. Since I copied and pasted commands it was easy. LOL. :boom:

I was editing while you were posting. Be sure to shut down the client and run -configonly again so the points go to the new username. :bluerip:

Not too good, it crashed 3 times now. first time it just froze had to hard reset it, second time it bsod'd and the last time it just got sluggish, this box has ram that might be suspect I am in the process of RMA'ing it however at low speeds it acts ok. and by low speeds I mean 533mhz on 800mhz ram. I had it clocked up to 667 speeds but that is not working so will downclock it.

I had all kinds of problems using VMware and decided on a direct Linux install. No problems since. And twice the frame times. But it does seem funny that you would have trouble with your RAM? :offtopic:

I've had trouble with the latest 2608-2609 WUs and Viper has too. Check the logs to see what WUs they were. These WUs want 4MB L2 cache. :offtopic:

LOL slow and running is better than not running, My brisbane got the evil WU on .5 cache 32minute frames, since its now at 1.9 ,insted of 2.9, but its running again, and still will provide more points than, single clients

Well I wanted to try the direct linux but as I posted here This ati card does not like linux at all. I knew there was a problem with it as it would crash windows too if the ram was running close to what it is rated too. it can run slower then its rated for at high timings but that is not what I paid for so I am sending it back.

Actually I should edit this to read, what my brother paid for. I ordered it I put it together for him but its his.

I like OCZ even though I've had to RMA 2 kits. They are about a 30 minute drive from work so no shipping. Too, the replacement ram is upgraded 1 tier and fully tested to work with your mobo/hardware. :offtopic: Never a hiccough from the the replacements.

I just looked at there site looks like to me all of there DDRII ram requires more than 2v like 2.2-2.4 even, thats kinda high.

http://www.ocztechno.../products/ddr2/

Id look for mine there and set volt like they suggest

IF its stable slower, it could be just under powered.
