Dude watch my points I have one Linux dual core box, I will see u soon
Sweet! push that on button and lets get going! :storm:

and yes, as a side note, im just trying to spark an interest in getting members to join in. As i said before, viper is no match for us, as he has a farm we just cant keep up with.

But you, i know i can kidd with and get away with it. But no kidding aside, lets get up to top 500 in a few weeks. if you look at our team stats, you will see its very possible. My goal here is to work together as a team. (with a little comroddery thrown in) :bluerip:

Well said lead man, and is my purpose as far as F@H is concerned. I need more rookies to lead to take this team to the top. That is the purpose of my request, the Captain has (chriso) has given me the ok to do what I can do here. This I will do. Mind you recriuting is very dufficult, but I think I am one of the best as far as folding goes. :boom:

I will be able to help much more if there are front page posts of the team.

Ok... so Ive been thinking about the new threads for the folding team... and I think we should definatly have one for rookies... Itll be a place where US can keep em in line n get em set up on the smp... Viper can watch out in there too make sure they are suing the right kernals... blah blah blah.... (hang on... is there one already? I dont know... these damn drugs...)

Now this second one you have excuse the lack of creativity... my brain is not funtioning right... these pills im on are supposed to numb the pain but instead they are numbing my brain. But.... is it possible to have a thread that is 18+... I am a lil bit of a :dancing4: and somewhere where i can let my fingers fly and not have to worry about what freaky thing may fly outta these babies... would be a great relief to this chicky. (they do go at 90wpm so I cant always be responsible for the things they say)

now as for the taunting ribbing blah blah blah... yeah we definatly need a new name for that... same idea ofcourse... but anything goes... I think there should be a warning to rookies on it... lol come in at your own risk maybe? I dunno... like i said my brain is offfffffffff... but im tryin to get it fired up.

Ok I got a question for anyone that can answer, I installed vmware on my brothers c2d an ubuntu 64bit an I tried for hours to get the smp linux to work but after unpacking the fah an trying to run the ./fah commands it just kept saying not a directory or something like that, I lost track of how many times I tried every variation they had on the web. I downloaded it many times to see if I got it wrong, but I could not figure it out. I finally downloaded the windows smp an have that running. if anyone could give me a heads up on why that would not work I would apreciate it.

When it extracts it ectracts inside another folder, I forget the name. What I do is go into Places/Home Folder/Folding. Open the extracted folder what ever it is and I cut the fha5 and mpiex file and paste them directly into the Folding folder. I then delete everything but these two files from the Folding folder. Then from the terminal I run these commands: cd folding/sudo ./fah5/password and the SMP automatically starts in the config mode. This works well for me. Remember in the Home folder you can rename your Folding folder to just folding if necessary. Hope this helps Cam. I learned this little trick when I kept running into the same issue you have run into. :bluerip:

I did most of that, I saw the folder inside the folder thing, I didnt try the sudo, didnt say I would need it on the F@h faq, I will try that, there is one other thing though after unpacking they ran ls -la an it showed something like 960 an a bunch of other things, when i ran that I show 490 an not quite as many other things. I wonder if the file is not the same one. has there been a change in that?
well I went back to try again, an this is what Im looking at.

the file has to be set excutable U unziped it using a GUI not the command givin in the FAQ. on properties U can right click check the box ,allowing it to be excutable.also the FAQ at fah shows a general way it doesnt account for every single version of linux thats out there. sudo is like run as in windows, sudo runs as root, root=Administrator in windows. Sudo is common to dubian distro's of linux.

sudo tar xzf FAH_SMP_Linux.tgz will unzip it and make it excutable since U are changing file properties U have to be root. U will need to type the root password.

or right click all files in your folding directory and check the allow excute box

linux is full of security stuff
