ok I'd like to add my athlon 900mhz to the team (just finished putting things together so it's a complete machine), which client would be best ? Since it's not 64-bit, I guess I have to go with a Windows Client but I'm not sure. If so, I'll get the Console.
Yes, either the Windows console client or the Linux client. ;)

ok I'd like to try the Linux client (never used Linux before though). Since I'm not 64-bit it's just that I can't go with VMWare and I have to dual-boot Windows/Linux, right ? Is there a version of Linux which works better ?

If you want to have Wndows on it, you would have to dual boot. If it's a dedicated Folding machine, you can just install Ubuntu on it. But unless you want to learn more about Linux, the Windows console client would be the easiest to get set up.

Probably a good machine to mess around with and learn some linux if you have never used it.

Get the console client hog it is up to 15 % faster than the standard Windows GUI client! Cant run the linux SMP without a dual core and a 64 bit os. VMware works very well in Windows x64, there is no need for dual boot this way. You just install Ubuntu 64 bit in VMware. I have installed VMware on 32 bit systems just to check out new Linux distros.:cool2:

I don't think you'll pass me. I'll keep adding machines if I have to inorder to stay first.

I'll try the smp client sometime in the next few weeks.

I'll break this to you as gently as I can Chriso. Too little too late! Vipe will have your a_s in 12 days. He has serious folding dedication and hardware!!! :P He mysteriously went from 5500-6500 ppd to 8500-10,000 on the other site with no hardware additions. (cough) F@H active processors said differently but they are always wrong so I'll give him the BOD. ;) He's a good Joe and you are lucky to have him here. I'm currently 5th but that will change tomorrow. Welcome to Vipe and Scoff. ;) :cool2:
