Wait wait, Microsoft gets thousands of people to test their software for free. Instead of Microsoft paying us they want us to pay them. WTF???

People who download the 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 will be charged US$1.50 per download, beginning this Wednesday in the US at 6pm PDT, a Microsoft representative said.

"Since the end of May, Beta 2 has been downloaded more than 3 million times.... That's 500 percent more than what was expected," the representative said. "The fee helps offset the cost of downloading from the servers."

You know, if only half the people download the next beta and pay for it, thats still 2.25 million dollars Microsoft gets for a expiring beta with bugs!!  I know BW doesn't cost that much! :o :smoke:
