oh man! ulrich schnass has a f'n kick azz new album titled "goodbye". an f'n sweet wall of sound (putting the monitors though their paces). just a brilliantly energized new chill/idm/downtempo offering!

the tune "einfeld" is breathtaking. sweet harmonic textures, heck, the whole album sounds like this (we need a "shoegazer/tripper" emoticon...).

If any of you have watched the Warner Brothers cartoons from the 1940s and 50s then you might have heard this. It was the song used for a bird walking through the forest tearing down trees and everthing in its path. The other toons would just stop and let this bird go past. He might appear, with this theme music, in any of the WB cartoons. His appearance was totally random. If you didn't know, Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, and those guys were the WB toon characters. Mel Blanc did most of the voices. I searched I guess 30 years to find out what the theme song was. It is by Felix Mendelssohn and the full name is "La Grotta di Fingal" but is better know as "Fingal's Cave". If you listen to the entire piece and watched those toons as a child you may just remeber this piece of classical music slipped into a cartoon. Enjoy...talker. <_<

The file is 11+ MB and that exceeds the limits so I hosted it below...T.

wow dave, you brought back memories: when this album came out, i had just got a very early version of a "surround sound" receiver (jvc "discreet surround sound"). talking vinyl here, but it did enhance stereo and even early mono records. vinyl did indeed sound much better than the standard cd/digital media of today...

A little heavier and more underground : "Blood Mountain" album from "Mastodon". Song is "Hunters of the Sky" right now. Great metal band, just discovered them last weekend although my fiends were listening to them for a while.

I remember buying that album for my ex girlfriend.. I do not especially like them but I drum the same as their drummer. If you like them Hog you may like Celtic Frost.

I am listening to Aerials by System right now.
