:smoke: I have a computer thats the customer says runs slow ? Funny thing is when its here its fine he"s on dsl so thats not the issue theres no spy ware or virus in it ! so does any 1 have a good one I can try ?

might sound stupid, but if the owner's voltage from the wall is a bit low, the system runs slower too...

the OS Xp and the voltage to the house is what it should be

I would say he is keeping it in a very warm place. Sounds like the CPU is getting too hot, and the bios is slowing down the chip speed to cool itself. Anotherwards a heat issue

thats a very good possiblity it s cooler here I keep it at 73 F all the time

Maybe the clients electricty wiring in his house is screwed up? Take the PC to his house and test it with a Ammeter and a Voltmeter, then compare the readings to when you have the PC

The power company tested the power going to the house there is no, what they called power drop from the pole to the house. They even replaced the meter. I will definitly take Ammeter and a Voltmeter to test the inside wiring then compare the 2

Ok this was the issue ... the computers memory was wrong bois showed it as 128 mb when he had 256mb he had 2100 ddr should have ddr 2700 installed the right memory and its fine

Damn I never knew having the wrong memory could cause so many problems. Only thing I don't understand you say the PC was fine when it was with you but not with the client? WTF?

it gets hotter there for 1 works harder memory slows the computer when its hot correct ?
