Places can be started by clicking the little lightning bolt with a small magnifying glass covering it in the bottom left corner of Bon Echo. Places is a much needed addition to Firefox

Performance wise I found Bon Echo on my system has less memory leaks and honestly runs better than Firefox 1.5.1 does. For a piece of software that is alpha I think if this is the alpha version of the next Firefox then the final product I am sure will be a real winner.
For an alpha product I give this 7/10
