Do you think computers will become a part of the home?

I think like, controlling the fridge, the TV and everything else. Like order shopping from the fridge online e.t.c

Will the PC control your DVD recorder? will your pc act as the TV/Media center?

I hope that one day the PC plays a big part of the home!

well to an extent, it is already here, with home automation, but it will only get more and more.... which is a problem, but its something that will just become a part of our lives

Yeah, all of what yall described is basically here, if you can afford it. I myself am not for that. Im sorry, I like to have to go out and get whatever it is that I need. Sometimes, its an inconveince, but most the time, its something to do to get out. Computers are good, but if you go into the whole home automation to strongly, I think then you are letting computers control your life.

You know as everyone has pointed out the technology already exists. If we spend a lot of money we can setup our whole houses to one central database computer system. (Would hate to setup everything and it gets a virus, imagine it fridge ordering food for no reason, microware turns on, blinds open and close whole time. etc)

Even worse you go out for a night out a have a few beers and when you walk/fall out side theres a taxi for you. And your car informs you that you can not drive it until you are sober this sounds great but what if all this has malfunctioned and you are sober.

No thank you a bit of tech is fine but it must not rule our lives.
