Hi, first of all i'd like to congratulate de administrators for the wonderfull forum.

I might not be the best guy to talk about Vista experice because it's not been long. Anyway, i've used both mensioned versions build 5308 and currently build 5342 and dispite the latency on running programs, the slow stuff i try to do becomes even slower but i'm definatly considering the 5308 version better. For several reasons,

First Windows Mobile Center on the new build is not working properly for me now.
Visual Studio 2005 can't be installed.
Many programs installed before are now unable to run.

I'm tired of testing beta versions of software M$ makes and till this one i havn't had an headache now DAMN it's terrible. Can't say i've enjoyed my experience with this new build.

I'm forced to say that from the comparison of both versions microsoft has a LOT of work to do till the end of the year.

But indeed this new Windows seems to be great or at least i'm having my hopes and expectatives VERY HIGH from what i've seen.

Abou nero, i've managed to install on both versions. the latest version 7.0.8.2 (i guess this is the number) doesn't properly finish but if you go to programs folder where you've installed it you can see the executable there and you are able to execute it. I've done it, recorded and tested, this is approved dispite de setup failing.

Regards

Thanks cYruZ, for the compliment. :)

5308 was a good build, and 5342 is also good. I have been able to get a lot of things working in 5342 that did not work in 5308. I now have sound Audigy 2 and also installed the ATI beta drivers. I have a fully functional system now. I will try your tip on nero. Thanks :)

and Welcome to the forums, invite your friends

I'll certainly will stick around, i'm always trying to learn from the best.

I'm still going to uninstall vista because at this point by not beeing able to instal visual studio 2005 i can't do anything for work so what has to be has to be.

This build is certainly good indeed. Certain drivers can now work like DriverLinx Port I/O for LCD display that on build 5308 didn't. But anyway, keep up the good work you might never know when we find a solution to these problems.

Our problems are everyone's problems so i'll try to help in what i can.

Thanks

That's what i've used but it still stops near the end. And that's also the reason why canceling at that time, it doesn't delete the files so you are able to use.

That's how i managed trought it. Don't know if you managed to end properly the setup.

Well, looks like i'm going to stick with build 5342 for a little while.

I've managed to install Visual Studio :) FINALLY

Didin't think that an instalation would take me this much time.

Anyway, if needed i can tell the steps i made in order to install.

Ahoy Vista 5342 :)
