Firstly if this is in the wrong place, please move it.
Ok, well me and mate are both quite good with computers etc and we have decided it is time to learn something new and thing a coding language is the way forward as we have little or know experience in it. I think ill learn HTML first as it seems easy, and then move onto maybe PHP and CSS/XHTML. My Mate however is more into gaming and such and i said maybe dive straight into C. Is this a good idea and what would u reccomend us do?
Thanks

You should go for an easy language to get the basics of programming. Languages like PHP, Java or Pascal. Those languages are easy to understand, and bring you the basic knowledge of how programming works. after that, go for C

I think Shadow has the best option. I've learned all them in my study Information Technology... first Pascal, then Java, then C++... but indeed, for learning yourself, his solution is probably best.
I still stick with books, books are logical and easier workable then web guides

From my experiences, HTML is pretty easy to learn on your own. Visual Basic isnt to bad itself. When I took Java though, I found it to be a pain in the a$$. I hated it. I have not done any C or C++, im not even sure if I want to venture out them or not LOL.
