Hey everyone. Im currently taking VisualBasic.net 2003 at my college. Im not really fond of coding, but Im halfway enjoying this. I just had a couple questions I wanted to bring up here though. Can a vb.net 2005 file be opened in vb.net 2003? Also, who else on here is good with vb.net or enjoys it? Id like to talk with you, to browden my knowledge of this language.

I guess you mean VisualStudio Net 2003 with that.
Why don't you install Visual Basic 2005 Express ?
VB 2005 Express supports 2003 projects and is free

Joe Joe, I have installed Visualbasic.net 2005, but its not backwards compatible with the 2003 version. If I do projects here at home, they are not useable in class. Plus, anything you make in 2005, you need .net Framework 2.0 installed, and all the machines at my school do not have that right now. I just installed 2003 on my machine, so I should be good to go now.

LOL, no Joe Joe, I cant update the computers at my school. They are locked down like a prison. So, I had to downgrade my copy here at home. And if anyone has any guides or anything they want to throw at me, please do, im willing to learn.

but 6 is all I am fluent at... it's simple to learn and a good place to start but with 2005 out I think THAT'D be the one they'd start teching you with!

the actual coding for 2005 is the same as 2003, its all .net, its just a newer version. The bad thing about it though, is that an 05 file cant be opened in an 03 program. And to clarky, I dont know much about the differences in VB6 and the .net, but I havent heard much good about 6.
