Grisoft, Inc., has introduced a new free version of its software specifically for the Linux desktop.

AVG Free for Linux include:

* An intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that makes the software easy to install & use
* Rapid virus database updates for the lifetime of the product
* Small update files that do not drain system resources

AVG is nice and since Norton decided to play with rootkits I'm thinking AVG sounds really nice right now :) and best of all, they are broadening their horizons, glad to see they are serving the Linux systems now :P

i agree shadow, that was disappointing, because even people who weren't users of Norton thought hell thats bad (example: me)

AVG is one of if not the best free option. They also do one they charge for and since the rootkit thing, i hope they do well.

Microsoft's Security Center (SP2 feature or pain depending how you feel) that detects internet protection software sees AVG, so if anything MS take them serious
