If Linux os is free? Then how do they get their money?

some are some arnt i suppose, people get money though donations, and all of it is written mostly by people who just want to make an operating system that works rather than rake money in..... correct me if im wrong

Clarky you got it 99% right, you missed one almost crucial thing, that makes linux what it is...

Linux is USUALLY developed by lots of people, developers that submit their code to be entered into the main OS.

I do like the principal of linux but in practice, its not what i need.

Linux is free if you d/l it, rarely do you get a place that gives out free CDS unless you get a hold of Ubuntu :P
