On MSBetas I wrote a SOLUTION for sound und VISTA 5259.

Here the story...

"Windows 95 had "Start me up" from Rolling Stones!
Windows VISTA must open with "Are You Ready" from Grand Funk Railroad... (EPA)"

I love VISTA!
I love to work with these builds!
And today I have one SOLUTION to get your motherboard "on-board" soundcard back to life!

Please lean back and listen my little project...

We all had a "bad" November 2005. The weather was not good, the politics even worser and MS could not give us a November CTP!

We were all happy for the leaked build 5231 winmain and more happier about 5231 winmain_idx. Because of a little trick (one file!) this build is now in a "special state" to bring the "graze period" of 13 days down.

With my "MODEM-Trick" and the "RASPHONE.PBK-Trick" nearly everybody could go to internet by Modem or DSL!

But how about the SOUND problem?

I found, that I must insert my "maiboard CD", so 5231 found the onboard sound implementation.
But what the heck is to do, to bring the 5259 version to a real SOUND experience?

SOLUTION
===========

I not only made "MULTI-BOOT" between VISTA and XPPro and WINDOWS SERVER 2003.

No! With VISTA 5231 no-graze-period! and the 5259 TAP from chinese source I have now also
"VISTA DUAL-BOOT"!

On D:\ resides my VISTA build 5231, at H:\ version 5259 TAP
C:\ must be NTFS for VISTA 5259 JCXP ....TAP i think not (?)

The sound after installation at 5259 is off!
No inserted motherboard CD helps!
No link to the other VISTA version coul help to insrall the drivers!

Then I had an nice/brilliant idea:

Why not copy the files of the folder "inf" and "System32/drivers" to my VISTA 5259?
Only the files, no folders...and not copy under VISTA...take XP or 2000 or 2003...

Ok, 5259 "found" the sound, found audio and legacy drivers, but nothing works!

At the next reboot I must "activate" those drivers in HARDWARE, but NO SOUND!

Today I started VISTA 5259 TAP once again, and now it said to me: "Insert your Drivers CD!"
WOW!

I did it and now it found the correct sources!

I copied the buggy "wmplayer.exe" to "Winplayer.exe", made it "XP-compatible (SP2)"
and now look what you all will possible could have:

MEDIA-PLAYER WORKS ... PowerDVD 5 WORKS ... CD WORKS ...

Lean back...here comes the pictures: A Tribute To GRAND FUNK RAILROAD and TERRY KNIGHT

(Please, klick into the pictures for fullscreen...)

Mark Farner on guitar before 180 000 fans
The speaker said" Please, welcome warmly our friends: The Grand Funk Railway..."
Grand Funk Railroad opened the Texas International Pop Festival 1969 for no money!

The TRIO, the Winplayer and GFR performs "Are you ready" (...for VISTA?)

Posted Image

Mel Schacher plays the bass like a guitar!

Posted Image

Don Brewer is one of the "wildest" drum players worldwide! Since 36 years!!

Posted Image

Terry Knight, their manager, gave GFR all, took away $ from them in court and at the
end he was stabbed down from the friend of its daughter! The picture promised a better
future for him!

The band onstage!

Where YOU there in 1969?

And what about DVDs and CDs?

Posted Image

GFR was/ is THE AMERICAN BAND - Hardrock pure!
In GB this purity was perhaps BLACK SABBATH!
Here with DVD 5 under 5259 TAP in Paris, Olympia, 1970 performing "N.I.B"

CD and visualisation works!

More to come:
