Don't connect ANYTHING to WAN or UPLINK port while you config (so you dont get any new IPs) Only Connect ONE machine to one of the LAN ports, use the web interface at 192.168.1.1 to:
Change the default password.
Add any security settings, ie enable WEP (remember to write down/printout the keys), enable MAC filtering etc.
Turn off DHCP (your LAN already has it because it is running through another router... or atleast mine is)
Go to advanced, and change it from "gateway" to "router".
And any other changes you may need.
NOW you can plug in your LAN. Plug a cable into your LAN using the Uplink port on the Linksys (UNLESS you are using a cross over cable in which you plug it into one of the ports [numbered from 1-4]).
Now power cycle the router (unplug plug it back in).
Now enter that WEP key into your Wireless card settings, or you can just plug in your machines into the LAN ports. Should be all set.
The only way to change the config of the linksys is to hard reset it, and do the whole process again if you mess it up, then again you'd probably want to so you can start fresh with out your previous f-ups.
Thanks for all your help guys, you've been wonderful and I appreciate all your help!
