I have a better one than that. When I was in high school, it was a tradition for the Seniors to pull a Senior Prank. When it was our turn, we actually got the art teacher's VW bug and had the autoshop dissassemble it, bring the parts into the cafeteria, and reassemble it on top of the tables. (It helped that the Art teacher's son was in our graduating class, because he arranged everything). You should have seen the look on everyone's face the next morning...

...the Principal also helped us with certain aspects of the prank... like putting the duck pond in the front lawn of the school...

Our Senior prank got cancled becase of the fact that the graduating class ahead of us decided to put exlax in the slushies... dumb @$$es... So we went and put a crap load of forks on our principals yard and put the numbers 05 in big letters with the forks... worked well, he was pissed :P

I want to see how smart you two are :P

Today, our math techer presented us with an equation... I was the only one who got it right...let's see how many of you get the right answer.

solve for y.

y(squared) = 25

Sorry, don't know how to write the squared symbol.

If y^2=25
Then y*y=25
y=5, -5

Well since Y (squared) is a number and we want to get rid of the squared we would square root it. Since one days the same to both sides of an equation 25 rooted is equal to +- 5

(Ok so everyone else here also got that, lol) RedInferno if you the only one that got it right in your whole class then cough cough do the other kids even listen to the teacher.

The sad part is that a lot of textbooks (especially ones used in Pre-Algebra and Algebra I classes) will only use the positive value, and won't even list the negative as a possibility. Then you come around to a section on multiplying negative integers, and it suddenly it possible to have both -5 and +5 be the answer. I never understood why they set up the books that way...
